About Bushway Allotment
According to the 1930’s Ordinance Survey Map; Becontree Estate was surrounded by up to 8 allotments including Bushway.  Built in the 1920’s; it was the biggest estate in the world.  London County Council’s Policy on Green Space in the 1890’s made allowance for open space and farm land.

In 1921 Farmers bought and sold small parcels of land.  Bushgrove farm was one such.  According to a 1944 map; the area of Bushgrove Farm could have connections to Bushway Allotment.
